decoupaged organizer

i decorated a blank balsa wood vertical organizer for my mom for mother's day using torn pieces of handmade unryu papers on the back two walls and dupioni silk on the front wall. my fingers were in the mod podge the whole time, so much easier than using a brush. i edged it with a gold leafing pen and added a few chinese coin embellies to the front.

i really like working with the unryu papers, they are delicate and organic looking, plus they hold up pretty well with a good dousing of collage medium.

mom filled it up with mail and papers right away!

  3. Thanks - a thin coat of mod podge dries in about 15 minutes. Unryu papers are also referred to as mulberry tissue in some places.
