Today the Designer Crafts Connection is having a blog hop sponsored by Deflecto - they make lots of crafter-friendly office supplies, including desktop frames, caddies and containers.
They gave me this cute cube of clear mini drawers that will be perfect for storing my rolls of washi tape. And what better way to decorate them - with washi tape, of course!
In addition to the usual rolls, I had found some 12"x12" sheets of washi paper with a peel-away liner at a local scrapbook store a while back. This is the perfect project for it - the thin semi-transparent washi paper sticks well and looks great against the clear plastic.
After lining the top and sides with the blue striped washi sheet, I used my Cricut machine to kiss-cut some flowers from the yellow dots sheet. Use the lightest pressure and slowest speed settings to cut through only the thin layer of washi without cutting all the way through the paper liner. You have to be very gentle as you peel the flowers off the liner, as the washi paper can tear easily.
Added some contrasting yellow and pink tape to the edges and glued buttons to the flower centers and done! This will look super cute on my worktable!
