i made a family photo quilt for my mom for xmas - it's about 22x28, a wallhanging. i used batik fabrics and e.q. inkjet fabric sheets, and embellished with ribbon, cording, buttons and a metal dragonfly. it's a pattern from super simple quilts #3, coming out in june 2009...a great book for beginners, as are books #1 and #2. this was fun and fairly quick to make (the hardest part was finding just the right photos), and even though i ended up with some wonky edges, i'm happy with how it turned out, and my mom (upper right) loved it! it's extra special because my father (lower right) died 20 years ago, but these pics make it seem as though he's still right here with us now!
